The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales have designated 2020 as The God who Speaks: A Year of the Word to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Verbum Domini – Pope Benedict XVI’s Apostolic Exhortation on ‘The Word of the Lord’.
This also commemorates the 1600th anniversary of death of St Jerome, who translated the Bible into Latin.
The Year of the Word is a time where we are invited to celebrate, live and share God’s word.
On Thursday 12th March, all children and families of St. Mark’s were invited to bring a bible from home to school to be blessed by Fr. Vincent during whole school Mass to celebrate The Year of the Word.
Knowing Scripture is Knowing Christ
