On Friday 6th March, Year 1 went to Blists Hill Victorian Town in Ironbridge. When we got there, we were transported back in time to 1900 the time of Queen Victoria’s reign.
We got dresses as children would back then and we attended a Victorian school. We did reading, learnt our times tables, we practised our handwriting and we learnt that children in Victorian England would get the cane if they did do as Sir or Ma’am said.
After the classroom experience, we went around the Victorian Town and spoke to the Chemist and the Candle-maker, then we went into a Victorian house.
We had a great time learning about Victorian England.
